Snow, Ice, Helper Service in the Blues

My son and a friend are spending the first few days of their winter break in the Blue Mountains of northeast Oregon. This morning he reported that icy rails managed to stall at least a couple of the trains moving over the hill. Several severe weather fronts moved through the Northwest overnight. A manned helper has been called out to keep things moving. This is territory where manned helpers were once commonplace, but not so much anymore, "thanks" to DPUs.
