PRS Special at Caliente, April 1971

With Amtrakageddon only days away, SP FP7 #6461 led a Pacific Rail Society Special from LA to Bakersfield and return. They made a "photo run" on the hill above Caliente on the way West but the train sat while the passengers ran.

After a few minutes of stirring the memory pot---did the passengers walk down to Caliente itself and the shoot the train as it came down to pick them up? I seem to vaguely recall some discussion about not doing a shove uphill.
