I have had similar problems with submitted articles, promises of publishing, on and on for six years. I finally threatened the unnamed magazine and received my material back. Less than six months later it was published in a historical society magazine. I will never submit another article or photograph. It's more fun to receive ridicule here on the internet, anyway.
