On Sunday, April 30, 1967 the Pacific Locomotive Association charterd a "Springtime Holiday" excursion that operated from Oakland through Sacramento and Stockton, over Altamont Pass and through Niles Canyon before returning to Oakland. The price for all this was $7.50. The REAL attraction, however, was the use of one of SP's KM German Hydraulics...the first time one of these unique engines pulled a passenger train. These days the two F units would have been enough of a selling point.
