The mountain was probably much easier to see BEFORE it blew its' top !!! HA HA HA... Took 1000 feet off the top it did...
But seriously, folks; the current mountaintop is visible to motorists on I-5 , Northbound in spots between Ridgefield & Kelso, in clear weather. I don't believe this view extends West to the BNSF ( ex - NP ) mainline, as the tracks are down in the trees along the bank of the Columbia River. Haven't ridden the line in awhile, so I'm reciting this from memory. The mountain is visible from the ex - SP&S Astoria line , on the Oregon side of the river.
BTW, the top of the mountain was actually owned by NP, tracing back to land grant days...
