To wigwagfan, your math is accurate, yet you have not considered the difference between a 3000# auto and a 80,000# truck with regards to the potential increase in wear & tear on the roadway. This would in essence turn your 2% increase in traffic into a 10% - 20% increase in roadway damage. As I have said here before, 1 million dollars of taxpayer money, will buy you more railroad than highway, in terms of hauling capacity.
