If the state and federal governments have this extra money for Tillamook repairs, let's give it to shortlines that can really use it. I no longer have a dog in this fight, but I do know who needs the money. Try Oregon Pacific, Willamette Valley, Albany & Eastern, Klamath Northern, Mt Hood. You might notice I didn't mention Port of Tillamook Bay and City of Prineville. Both have received considerable government money beginning in the early 1980's. The large shortlines (WPRR, PNWR and CORP) have resorces and money, but they continue to tap the government moneys. They are able to pay good dividends, but not have money for maintenance of track and structures.
