Favorite Trackside Campsites

Hepkema's listing of the Kamela wye in the Blues brought to mind the wide place in the paved road maybe a mile East. About 75 feet above the tracks. No guardrail. A lunch stop or, in our case, parking an RV overnight. Great diesel exhaust and the whining of the dynamics fans.

Was able to directly thank a "mature" Union Pacific Cheyenne mechanic, most likely a shop lead, who was caravaning "his" locomotive in a Wyoming-licensed company van. Tough job, but somebody had to do it.
