Question
Can anyone guess the cost for this move? This was not a very long distance haul. Please offer your estimates. - Double cranes at each end of the trip for loading and unloading. $5,000 for each

Last week, I received photos of the Schnabel Car (3600) being cut up for scrap. That leaves the 3601 which has never hauled a load due to mechanical issues: Bad welds, 80% of the welds failed testing

Need a yard cleck to do your math for you? Using published figures: Big boy with tender, fueled 1,250,000 (wikipedia). One KRL 3600 schnabel car 740,800 (Umler), One skid mounted cylinder

Schnabel car after the upgrades in Georgia in 2014 is good for 1,800,000 pounds total. I don't think the SONGs reactor met the maximum load. So, the weight overall was somewhere under 1,800,000.

Which one weighed more, the fully loaded Big Boy 4014, or the recently moved decommissioned nuclear reactor vessel using the Schnabel car?
