Online Store Terms and Conditions

Effective December 28, 2011

Altamont Press Publishing Company accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express for payment. Prices specified in the online store are in US Dollars ($). Your card will be charged upon the completion of your order.

We collect sales tax on all orders with a destination address in the State of California. The current sales tax rate is 8.00%.

Almost all domestic orders are shipped by USPS First Class Mail (1-2 items) and USPS Priority Mail (3+ items). International orders are shipped by USPS First Class Mail International.

Our shipping prices for domestic orders:

  • 1 item
  • 2 items
  • 3-6 items
  • 7-20 items

USPS Priority Mail is typically used for orders 3 items or more. For orders exceeding 20 items, the store will not automatically charge shipping prices. We will contact you to arrange the cheapest shipping method suitable to your needs. At that time, shipping costs will be added to your order.

International shipping prices vary widely by country and order size. In most cases, the price will be quoted on the checkout screen. Please contact us if the online store is unavailable to calculate a price for your country.

We strive to ship all orders the same business day provided we receive them by 4:00pm PST Monday through Friday. Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday, or a postal holiday will be shipped the next business day.

In very rare circumstances, orders may be delayed 1-2 business days. We apologize for these delays, but rest assured as they occur less than 1% of the time. We will attempt to contact you at the e-mail address or phone number you provide if the delay will be 2 days or more. You may opt to cancel your order for a full refund at that time if the delay is not acceptable.

Our customers tell us they receive their orders 1-3 days after ordering. Please contact us if you have not received your order within 7 days.

All sales are considered final unless one of the following applies:
  1. You receive merchandise with manufacturing defects. Examples include, but are not limited to: missing or blank pages, torn pages, smeared ink, or defective binding. This applies only to the condition in which your items were received, it does NOT afford a warranty for normal wear and tear, or damage caused by the user.
  2. You receive merchandise damaged in transit by the United States Postal Service, or another domestic or international shipping company.
  3. You receive unwanted merchandise due to a software glitch in the online store.
Applicable Time Limits and Requirements
  • Manufacturing defects or damage incurred in shipping (Nos. 1 and 2, above) must be reported to us within 45 days of the order date to qualify for a refund or exchange.
You must save the defective merchandise or damaged packaging as proof until we tell you otherwise. One of two things must occur to facilitate a refund or exchange:
  1. Photograph(s) of the defective merchandise or damaged packaging must be sent to us for review. --OR--
  2. The defective merchandise and/or damaged packaging must be returned to us to review. Altamont Press will reimburse you for your shipping costs (not to exceed the shipping costs you originally paid).
Upon receipt of your photographs or returned materials, we will make a determination as to the validity of the refund or exchange. Altamont Press Publishing Company reserves the right to refuse a refund or exchange request if we suspect deception or criminal activity, and to notify law enforcement if necessary.

In the event an item cannot be exchanged -- due to inventory being sold out -- we will offer a full refund instead.
  • Software glitches must be reported within 2 days by e-mail or phone. Please be prepared to describe the software behavior that caused the problem. We understand this is a short time window to abide by and we apologize for that. If necessary, Altamont Press will reimburse you for your shipping costs to return unwanted merchandise (not to exceed the shipping costs you originally paid).

If you have erred in the ordering process, the best option is to contact us immediately by phone at (714) 871-9738. We will try our best to cancel your order if it has not yet shipped. Orders that have been shipped cannot be cancelled.

We collect -- but do not share or sell -- personally identifiable information, including your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, credit card information, and IP address. Moreover, for security reasons, we do not retain records showing your complete credit card number. Only the last four (4) digits of your credit card number and the card type are kept on file for accounting purposes.

Users who have opted into receiving our newsletter may receive periodic newsletter e-mails, not to exceed four (4) per year.

This Online Store Terms and Conditions document may be revised from time to time, as necessary. If you are a returning customer, please review the latest version of this document before placing a new order.

We reserve the right -- at our sole discretion -- to relax the requirements of policies listed herein for the purpose of benefiting the customer. We take no pleasure in being unreasonably legalistic in the application of our policies. At the very least we promise to listen and, if possible, propose a mutually amicable resolution. This statement is not a guarantee that the rules will be relaxed for any reason.
