On April 1, 1991 the new East Portland Traction Company assumed ownership and common carrier obligations of the former Portland Traction Co. jointly owned by SP-UP. Since it was a "10905" transaction, EPTC had to agree to operate the property as a common carrier for two years which may be why we signed the papers on April Fools Day as we weren't expected to survive even two years.
Two years later we bought the SP Molalla Branch and merged the two operations in 1997 into what is not the Oregon Pacific.
Not only did we make the two year mark...we have survived another 21 years and our future looks bright thanks to the hard work and determination of my three sons.
