When people work hard and raise money, so I can enjoy things like 3751, I usually just say thanks guys for all the hard work it takes to make these things happen. But, I'm old and have had to do a good deal of hard work to make a few good things happen myself.
There are always factions, cliques, wannabee's and knowitall's that like to point to this or that to complain and whine a lot. But. it's been my experience, that they don't accomplish much. And, much of this thread appears to be mostly that kind of un-informed @#$%& and moaning.
There are real problems of various sorts, including things like liability, with running over any private RR with third party equipment like this. One of the bigger problems of late, appears to involve the difficulties in working with Amtrak's "steam program", and the apparent difficulties that this "team" has presented to many of the preservation groups, Amtrak's own pool of "formerly" safe and qualified steam operators, and the private railroads.
Meanwhile, I'll just say thanks to the SBRHS and Metrolink, for this years train, and hope that when the improvement are completed on LOSSAN, which will allow for easier operations (with a full tank) to San Diego, it can go there, too. Also, given some of the obvious problems with Amtrak's "team", I sure hope for some adult intervention, because if you think some of the SBRHS people are considered arrogant.......? Or else, all of these wonderful events may be in danger?
