Empire Builder #27 had five L.A. Rail PVs on the rear today heading through Vancouver into Portland -- sleeper-lounge "Overland Trail", dome coach "Silver Splendor", and sleepers "Salisbury Beach", Pacific Sands" and "Palm Leaf".

Also in Vancouver, several BNSF capital projects continue to progress:

The concrete "trench" for the new bypass track from the Fallbridge Sub into the Port of Vancouver is now under construction;

New signal bridges are in place on the north-south Seattle Sub in front of the Amtrak depot. The southward signals are already in service and the northward signals are almost complete;

Grading and retaining walls for the Vancouver Yard bypass are now underway. The bypass will allow trains between the Seattle and Fallbridge Subs to avoid crossing over at Vancouver Center, just north of the depot;

A new platform on the Fallbridge Sub side of the depot is under construction. Once this is complete, BNSF can re-align the Fallbridge Sub to reduce the radius on the curve past the building. This will involve removing the "green space" and the existing platform on the east side of the building. A new westward signal governing moves across the Fallbridge Sub-Seattle Sub interlocking is already in place but covered;

The old Boise Cascade lead that ran along the east side of the depot parking lot is now gone. Rail access to the cement plant on the south side of W. 8th Avenue is now off the new Port lead.
