Join Amtrak in celebrating the 7th annual Nation Train Day at Portland Union Station on Saturday, May 10th from 10am-4pm. This year's event features over thirty information booths, live music, food vendors and fun family entertainment. Tour an Amtrak Cascades' trainset, as well as the SP&S 700 steamer, the Traveller's Rest coach/lounge car, a Union Pacific caboose, and Doyle's Nickel Plate NKP 190 PA.
Little train fans can enjoy model train displays, Chuggington Kids Depot, face painting and entertainment from the Rose Festival Character Clown Corps.
Live music will be played throughout the day, featuring local bands the Americana duo, The Marvins, bluegrass from Cascadia Crescendo and the Dixieland tunes of the Mudtown Stompers.
The opening ceremony begins at 10am and features special guest, Joseph C. Szabo, the Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
