From what I have seen, I doubt it is CTC - probably similar to ABS/APB with automatic switches. What is interesting - the grade xing signals at the stations seem to be wired into the train signal system. The block signal leaving the station stop stays red until the time delay for the station stop expires and the gates on an adjacent xing are down. Not sure how it handles the night freights including lifting the high level aprons at the stations.
