The end of an era. Time to post, once more, this item from Mad Magazine sometime in the 1960s:
Sung to the tune of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home".
We're taking the 5:02 tonight,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We're going to have some fun tonight,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We're taking the train with the special car,
The one that features the stand-up bar,
And the drinks will pour
When we're on the 5:02!
We're leaving the 5:02 tonight,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
And we're all lit up like a neon light,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Our wives will curse us and how they'll swear,
They'll call us drunkards, but we don't care,
Cause we feel no pain
When we're on the 5:02!
(accompanied by a drawing of a train on a suburban station platform, windows smashed, guys in suits and fedora hats staggering out, angry wives on the platform, arms on hips)
