Blah blah blah. . . . . .

Your defensive statement does not follow.
There was no disagreement presented about anything specific. But instead a wish that someone was dead. Now if that is not hate speech, then what the he!! is? But whatever it it is - it IS indeed NOT an acceptable way to talk to someone you disagree with. DO NOT expect anyone to respect your opinion if you demonstrate ill will towards them. It ain't gonna happen!

Moreover, what would be un-american would be self appointed know-it-alls such as yourself telling everyone else where they could and could not live. Or where they can go on public land and where they can't. Seems to be a lot of that going on around the country lately - un-American as it is.

Besides, just where the he!! do you expect people to live besides those coastal hills that might catch fire? Down on the flats where it floods? Or on the plains where the winds might blow your house down. Or next the the San Andreas. Perhaps above the timberline, where little or no life survives for long! Fires and floods are pretty much unheard of up there; but the wind and the cold. . . . . .

Fact is, there are risks peculiar to every place on Earth. And I'm quite sure that is the case on Mars too! There are no hiding places from nature. Of course, it would help if stupid men (or women) would stop causing them. The trick then, is to figure rational ways to prevent or mitigate those risks and equitable ways to share them, when nature rages anyway.

After-all, it ain't likely floods and wild fires will both happen at the same time in the same region. Sharing our risks would make them manageable for each of us. Crabbing about each others residential choices, or trying to dictate them from On-High is both impractical and ineffective. And is also Un-American.
