Any chance of relocating IAIS' Rock Island yard operation east five or so miles to the one-time site of CRI&P's sprawling Kelly Yard property? The last time I passed through the Quad Cities, this industrial real estate in Silvis was largely unused.
Changing attitudes, new direction in public policy, and the emergence of development plans (and developers, for that matter) is nothing new, and I just bet that the city will run most of what remains of the business and associated railroad activity out of Rock Island on a rail.
