My dad, Southern Pacific Western Division Engineer Lloyd D. Sloan, poses at the throttle of SP Alco S6 1206 at Port Chicago, CA an unknown date in August, 1972.

I was 16 when I took this photo on Wards Film. It had color shifted terribly and I thought the image was lost. Thank You Photoshop!

SP Alco S6 1206 and SW1500 2632 are sitting outside the yard office at the SP Ozol Yard in Martienez, CA on the night of January 3, 1973.

Reportedly (sources) Don Ross: S6 1206, Class AS409-1, was built by ALCo in May 1955, #80929, as SP 1039, Class DS-9. It was renumbered 1206, Class AS409-1, in 1966. It was sold to City of Grand Island, Platte Generating Station 1 and sold as AGP Grain Cooperative 1.
