There are some factors in the favor of 611. The locomotive has run recently in comparison to 4014. Sitting outside for 50+ years takes its toll. Granted 4014 was cared for cosmetically and kept lubed. It still sat for that time out in the open. 4014 was donated for static display with no intention of EVER running again. . 611 was placed on static display after a successful post retirement career as an excursion locomotive and was displayed in as near operating condition as possible. This "Race" will a fun one to follow.
