Moderne Vs. Art Deco

Technically there is no such thing as an Art Deco building. Art Deco properly refers to items of decoration, such as jewelry, lamps, and furniture. The buildings are either Moderne, Zig-Zag Moderne, or Streamline Moderne, as in the Las Vegas depot. The extension of meaning of Art Deco is in large part due to the ignorance of magazine feature writers, etc.
