It depends on the RR. Now SP termed the uncovered short tracks off a table, were Garden Tracks. It was because the tracks were outside and some didn't get used much. Weed and grass City.

We had a "Garden" at the Mission Bay roundhouse. It was a nice place to sit and was kept up by "The Garden Club", engineers that worked the commutes and were laying over for the afternoon fleet. When Mission Bay was all done, the crews were moved to 7th St Diesel Terminal. The Garden Club was still alive but doing things different. Each crew, (Eng & Frm)
had to supply donuts, make coffee and clean up the place. I think it was on a 5 day basis.
