If you visit the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, you can view the very first Budd that flew -- the "Pioneer" amphibian, which is on display outside the main entrance.

The Budd Company built the aircraft to demonstrate its then-new capability to construct using stainless steel. After flying it several hundred thousand miles across the U.S. and Europe, the company donated it to the then-new Franklin Institute in 1935...and there it remains, more than 80 years later, without a speck of rust.

While you're there, you can visit the railroad exhibits, including Baldwin #60000, a three-cylinder compound 4-10-2.
