Some might remember in the early 1980's when MUNI had so many diesel buses out of service that they brought up a group of retired GM's from Los Angeles to fill in. Arriving on SP flat cars they had new numbers applied with a spray can and entered service with Los Angeles advertising cards still in the slots above the windows.
