Couple Of Questions

I happened upon this site a couple of days ago. It's great.

I have a couple of questions, although they might be from out of the area of discussion or plainly obvious with a little research...

When did CSX change thier logo to the bubble letters with yellow? I really didn't notice the change til recently.

Did the Washington Group (ala - MRL, SRY and I&M RailLink) try to create a link to Alaska? I think I recall some sort of proposal to link Alaska and the rest of the USA by rail, possiblly to Mexico, or some other north-south route with one railroad in complete ownership.

The DME was also trying to expand west into coal country. How long has that been going on? Like 15 years? Has there been any upgrades to thier west sections, or expansion with new rail so far? Have they given up, or not gotten permits to allow them to expand?
