Lockheed Sunnyvale employed its own fire department on site (within the fenced perimeter of the restricted access facility). Most of their time was spent handling small fire issues within the campus, including inspections, etc. That being said, the City of Sunnyvale also had a fire station (No. 5) at the corner of Mathilda Avenue and (the former) Lockheed Way (now called Innovation Way), across from Lockheed's headquarters building (Building 101). As employees, we were instructed to call a special three-digit phone number (not 9-1-1) which connected to the Lockheed fire department. It was the first respondent. If other help was desired, then the SV fire department was notified. If I recall, the company also had an ambulance on site.
