OPR diesel passenger trains, speeders and fireworks at Oaks Park
For anyone who’s going to remain in Portland, Oregon for the July 4th weekend, but still wants a train fix along with some fireworks, come out to either Oaks Amusement Park and/or the Oregon Rail Heritage Museum this Friday.
The Oregon Pacific Railroad will be operating our diesel passenger train between Oaks Park and the ORHC museum from 1pm to 5pm. Then after 5pm when the museum closes, we’ll still be operating till approximately 11pm, but stopping just short of the museum near SE Caruthers and SE Water Ave.
The big ticket is that passengers car park somewhere around OMSI, the Opera House, ORHC or the general area of East Portland (heck even ride the Street Car to us) and then ride our train to Oaks Park and see the fireworks at 10pm avoiding the extremely clogged Oaks Park parking lots. We’ll bring you back to East Portland after the show is over.
Fare to ride our train or speeder, round trip is only $5. That means you can ride one way, deboard and ride a later train back at no extra cost. And of course diesel locomotive rides still available for only $10 a person.
We will also be giving train and speeder rides from 1pm-5pm on Saturday July 5th, on our normal Saturday route and schedule.
