Nothing "on the ground" here in Sacramento yet the news media here is jumping on the panic wagon along with our nanny government trying to pass legislation that supercedes federal rules. If the public realized the amount of potentially disasterous that the railroads haul without incident there would be a massive run on smelling salts. Rail safety is higher now than it has ever been . Since the demand for petroleum products keeps rising and the envoronmental lobby is blocking any and all pipeline projects it has to be transported somehow. And since building a new refinery is also taboo the crude needs to travel great distances, by rail. When will they realize that their blocking the progress of industry is creating the things that scare them so much?
