Hey Mike-- Good question..
First off, former SN/WP/SP railroader "Tom Irion" is quoted as telling me the following:

"Ken:
The engineer out of Oakland was P. R. SRSEN, yes with four
consonants and only one vowel. I worked with him out of Oakland in
1963-4. A Sacramento Division engineer would have started at Sacramento
to Truckee and return.

The engineer, with the original spelling, the way I had typed it, was shown as such in the original T.L. onboard newspaper...
Don't know about a fireman... Would you HAVE to have one for these beauties:
