Yes. The broad gauge is Victoria Rys gauge (Irish gauge, 5' 3"), formerly the standard in Vic but now used only for the passenger services in the Melbourne area. The line from Melbourne to Sydney is 100% standard gauge (no more cross-platform change at Albury).
