Jeff pretty much said it all. The Drako Road plans have supposedly been dropped and the property is for sale (or sold?) Future track expansion beyond Eureka may involve a balloon on the river flats somewhere near the Merrimac Mill site. There's also the tunnel project in Virginia City where prep work has been done to look for voids or rotten timbers under the street. It all takes money and unless some anonymous "sugar daddy" steps up and starts throwing cash things will remain as is. There are those who still dream of getting the rail into Carson from Morgan Mill Road on some public ROW like Highway 50 or 5th Street past the prison but the 395 Freeway Bypass pretty much ends that. My wife always used to muse that the V&T main ran right through her desk at the BLM office on the Morgan Mill site.
