RGZ Detour 1983 ???

Reading the excellent article on Union Pacific operations in Ogden,UT., in the latest issue of The Streamliner, has me thinking about my trip on the LAST Rio Grande Zephyr to make it all the way to Salt Lake City, on April 14, 1983. The next day, April 15th, by virtue of the fact I had booked a round trip from Denver, I was allowed to ride the detour back to Denver via the Union Pacific. ( Anyone traveling to any intermediate stop had to ride a bus. ) A question: Did the detour use Rio Grande tracks from SLC to Ogden, or U.P. ???
