Based on the 40th anniversary history they wrote in the inside cover, I think they plan to continue the tradition. But I would like you to all note that the 21 year old artist was diagnosed as autistic when he was 3 and had a fascination with trains-------and I am sure many of you will agree that there are many railfans who are somewhere on that Aspbergers/autistic spectrum, fascinated with trains, the numbers, the timetables, schedules and etc. and have limited social skills when not trackside. The founder of this ALtamont Press forum, Rob Carlson, was a high performing Aspbergers and you will also find that Warren Buffet fits the mold as well with his fascination with numbers, dollars, bridge playing etc. It was Katharine Graham of the Washington Post who finally pulled him out of his Aspbergers behavoir---read his biography, Snowball, and you will understand. Also, autistic does NOT necessarily mean "dumb or stupid"---it simply describes a syndrome where social relationships are "different" and/or difficult.
I am glad to see Lowe's perpetuating the tradition of the calendar and also recognizing the talents of an autistic young man.

PS--I also like to remind people that what we now call Developmentally disabled was once called "retarded"---people forget that retarded simply means "slow" (er), not stupid.
