Our experience with BR restaurant cars was excellent, their fried breakfasts were well known and popular with morning travellers. Sadly in their quest to save money, standards have been drastically lowered all over the system (sound familiar SP) although FGW does/did have a restaurant car on the Paddington Penzance services.
