That curve is one of the tightest on the EWG and I would suspect wide gauge. Wet conditions and a ground that isn't very frozen probably helped things along. I drive a lot of county roads south of Spokane County and roads are in late spring conditions due to all the freeze thaw cycles we have had---lots of soft squishy spots that appear out of nowhere next to areas that are still frozen.
