It appears that they will replace about every other tie in the Canby siding/interchange track. They previously replaced a bunch of ties in the main track turnout to the siding and looks like they will be building track panels to replace all of the crossings through town both the main and siding.
Right now UP service is FAR WORSE than any time in the last 22 years since we have owned the Molalla line. None of the departments at UP talk to one another..they consistently run setouts and the cars end up in Eugene and come back the next week. This week a bunch of centerbeams needed by RSG ended up in Eugene because the tie gang had thiry Brandt truck and a bunch of cars of ties blocking the interchange...wont see those cars until next Monday...maybe.
To add insult to injury, for the SECOND year in a row they have reduced our handling carrier rate by about $6 per car...all this in spite of RECORD PROFITS!
Maybe time for a rail to trail conversion...this game just ain't any fun anymore!
