I have contacted a well-respected long-time collector of such things, and the gist of this is buyer beware. NWP was a seperate operation from the SP, and at least one NWP Fireman's badge does exist. The collector had no info on NWP RR Police, and did not ever recall seeing one. Beware of excessively low or high prices. Reference EBay or similar for comparable items. Beware of anything in mint or near-mint condition, and exceessively beautiful badges. The back should have a fastening device that is professionaly cast in place or soldered on, and most likely not with lead-based solder. It should probably not be painted, but baked enameled instead. Reference collector's guides. People have also been known to attach ersatz 'cuff-link' style brass buttons of the proper RR initials, onto the face of a generic badge. Good luck!
