Two workers from Stacy & Witbeck who have been working on the SMART project in the Sonoma/Marin area traveled to Wilder Ranch today to finish the work for the burned out wooden trestle at milepost 23.54. The trestle burned back in 2013 and it was replaced with fill and a culvert as part of the recent contract between the RTC and Stacy & Witbeck. Their job today was to weld in two sections of replacement rail to replace the rail that was heat buckled during the trestle fire. I had a very good morning learning about the process and meeting the father and son team who did the work. I will put a photo essay together about the process and post it over on West Coast Rail Forums when I have time.
