La Selva Beach Railroad Trestle Completion Ceremony

La Selva Beach Trestle (near Breve Ave, off Playa Blvd)

You are invited to attend a completion ceremony for the newly completed La Selva Beach Railroad Trestle, a key link in the 32-mile Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line. Bridge rehabilitation funding was included in the purchase agreement transferring the rail line into public ownership. The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is the lead agency for the project and secured approximately $5 million for the work at this and three other bridges. Completion of the La Selva Beach Trestle re-opens the rail line for freight and excursion passenger rail services.
