The NWP in the summer of 1964 was in the best condition in its history.
TT speed in the Eel River Canyon from Mp 160 to Scotia Bluff MP257 was 25 MPh with the exceptions of a few maintanence slow orders. FromMP 257 to 258 was 20 mph over the bridge.From MP 258 to Alton mp262.8 was 35 mph. From Mp262.8 to 282 Eureka Yard limit was 40 mph.
Christmas week of 1964 until June of 1965 (177 days) the speed from Farley MP 158 to Stone mp 259 went to 0 mp.
