Yes indeed a truly GIANT cultural and human loss today (friday 2-27-15)
Leonard Nimoy was and will ALWAYS be a human LEGEND.
Spock and Star Trek inspired many many generations to pursue careers in science.

Railroad content Majel Barrett has already passed living 1932--2008.
she provided the voice for many UP Defect detectors around the west.
Fred Rogers - mister rogers also passed on 2-27 back in 2003 --born in 1928.
Fred Rogers was a childhood trolley car fan --more RR content there.

Star Trek TOS surviving cast that I can recall
William Shatner (captain Kirk),
Nichelle Nichols (LT Uhura --enerprise comm officer),
George Takei (Sulu)
and Walter Koenig (Ensign chekov)
are still with us here on earth as of late 2-27-15.
