As a result of that dip in the Clearwater, the BN 1702 (at the time), was heavily rebuilt. The claim that Hillyard (Spokane, WA) made when presenting it at an open house there after the work was finished that the 1702 was considered a better locomotive than when new.

I wish I knew what happened to it too.
