Winterail railroad museum fundraiser

At yesterday's Winterail 2015 show in Stockton, there was a fundraiser benefitting a half dozen railroad museums in CA and OR.
Promoters handed out flyers to show attendees at the door, urging everyone to support working railroad museums with donations of time and money to the preservation of railroad history.
After the dinner break, outdated and superceded Altamont Press California Region and Central West timetable publications timetables were freely offered to anyone who had made a donation of any amount. What a concept!
Kudos to Dave Curlee and others for providing those Altamont Press timetables - the change leftover from my dinner funds went into that pot. (I overheard someone say that over a thousand dollars was collected, and would be evenly divided amongst the named museums.) Was this a successful fundraiser?
