I doubt that the people especially the teenagers about to commit suicide are thinking about the legal aspects of their actions and do it just so their families can get a lot of money. I don't think every family of the people that die on the tracks file lawsuits or collects money in these cases. Filing a lawsuit doesn't automatically insure a huge settlement for relatives. Not all lawyers are scumbags. Many probably don't take these cases because they're not easy to win.
