SMART Takes Inevitable Ugly Turn

On the other hand, the pilot DMU trainset departed Illinois today for the West Coast. Smith Ranch Road is fast becoming connected with the national rail system via the SMART main. The only new signal house that has been terribly graffit'd is the one at the ped xing on the Ignacio wye.

Here is some work I witnessed today on the tunnel portal. Don't know what they were doing, maybe prepping the old concrete for resurfacing with grout?
