The above-mentioned train is discussed on pages 192-194 of Robert M. Hanft's book, "Pine Across the Mountain" (Golden West Books, 1971). There's several photos, but not the one referenced in this thread. This occured on September 15, 1931, the train consisted of 57 cars of lumber, and the occasion was the opening of the McCloud River/Great Northern connection at Lookout.
