Actually, the subduction zone in that area pushes up mountains for the State of Jefferson to live in, and fuels the Cascade volcanoes for a bit of fireworks. Yes, when a big subduction quake occurs, the coastline itself may sag a bit, but it's hardly going to "fall into the ocean" - the action is going the other way.
Hopefully, by the time of the next Big One, the stuff at the balloon track will be gone. The tsunami can then wash the place clean of surface crud (pick your snideness in that comment - could go many ways). Based on studies by them gummint-funded geologists and historians, we're in the window (300 years or so) for another Big One but not really "due" yet.
