One set of Amtrak Horizon equipment is standard on the Pacific Surfliners.
They are captive on the same trains. They began today in San Diego as #565 to LA. Then back as # 572. North again as #583 ending in LA. Tomorrow they will leave LA to San Luis Obispo as #761. Return to San Diego as #790. Then repeat the cycle the next day.
There was a Horizon Business Class car briefly but mostly it is an Amfleet car. The NPCU or Non Powered Control Unit, Aka "Cabbage Car" "F40 control car" is usually the #90208 previously Amtk #208. When the 90208 is out of service for repairs, wheel turning, or its 90 day inspection, the #90230 takes its place. The #90230 is in the Cascade brown, green and white colors also known as mud, moss and mold.
