I rode the NWP from San Rafael to Eureka and back in the old days (on a pass) and have been watching the politics of SMART from a distance. Although I don't live in Marin or Sonoma counties, I do know some of the combatants and journalists in the area. I can get to San Rafael on public transit in just over an hour and will certainly ride SMART soon after it opens.

I really don't have a dog in the NWP fight, but it is fun to watch. I have lots of popcorn.
