I totally share your enthusiasm for this time of year in the northern latitudes. Been remarking to my wife and co-workers a lot this past week or two about how much I love the "long" days of May-June-July, the extreme northerly angle of the morning and evening sun which lights up those rarely-photographed scenes that don't work the rest of the year, and yes, that glow in the sky that works its way to almost due north and fades out around 10pm or so, only to come back around at like 2 or 3am...at least for those of us just below the Canada/U.S. border.
